Position Overview
The Procurement Mid-Level Data Analyst is responsible for managing and analyzing procurement data to support supplier engagement and process improvement. This role involves collecting, validating, and maintaining accurate procurement datasets from multiple sources to meet both business goals and regulatory requirements. The Analyst tracks supplier participation and spending patterns, especially across small and local vendors, and produces regular reports to highlight trends and performance. They validate supplier credentials, integrate supplier diversity metrics into analytics, and provide insights to guide strategic sourcing decisions. The Analyst also collaborates with internal teams to ensure procurement practices align with business objectives and compliance standards, presenting complex data in a clear and accessible format to support decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Collect, extract, and validate procurement data from multiple sources to ensure completeness and accuracy.
Utilize coding skills in Power BI and other platforms (such as Python or SQL) to automate data extraction and transformation processes, enhancing data integration and analysis across supplier engagement initiatives.
Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and data visualizations to monitor supplier engagement, diversity, and performance metrics.
Prepare monthly subcontracting and supplier engagement reports for executive leadership and department stakeholders.
Maintain up-to-date records of supplier certifications and support supplier diversity programs.
Conduct contract compliance audits to ensure adherence to regulatory and contractual commitments.
Collaborate with internal departments to align procurement processes with business objectives and support supply chain sustainability efforts.
Present complex procurement data and insights in a clear, concise manner to facilitate informed decision-making.
Contribute to ad-hoc projects and continuous process improvement initiatives within procurement analytics.
Data Requirements
Advanced proficiency in data analytics tools such as Excel, Power BI, and PowerPoint.
Experience with coding for data extraction and transformation in Power BI and other platforms (Python, SQL, etc.) is highly valued.
Strong experience with data extraction, validation, and analysis from disparate sources, including ERP/MRP systems.
Ability to develop custom queries, reports, and dashboards for procurement and supplier engagement metrics.
Demonstrated experience in spend analysis, key performance indicator tracking, and procurement data management.
Knowledge of data visualization best practices and tools for presenting actionable insights.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Data Sciences or minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in procurement analytics, supplier management, or a related data analysis role.
Proven ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including supplier management and product/category managers.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a detail-oriented and organized approach.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for report generation, presentation, and stakeholder engagement.
Familiarity with sourcing, supplier selection, contract management, and compliance auditing.
Understanding of supplier diversity initiatives.
Additional Information
The Procurement Mid-Level Data Analyst – Supplier Engagement will report to the Manager, Data Analytics & Project Management, and will be a key contributor in providing fact-based, data-driven intelligence to support business decisions and achieve organizational goals.
